What to do in an emergency

If you have lost data and you are scrambling to recover it, you must do one thing first...

TURN THE COMPUTER OFF!

Then you can continue your research into the problem without further risking your lost data by continuing to write to the failed hard drive.

If you have hard drive errors, have acidentally formatted your drive, deleted a partition or any other number of "bad things", all is not lost. Your data may still be retreivable, but the longer your leave your computer switched on, the greater the chance that the areas of your hard drive that so still retain your data will be overwritten with another process. If you can quickly disable access to a hard drive that you will need to perform a recovery on, you will greatly improve your chances of a quick and economical recovery.

You can now ask Backup.com.au's engineers to help recover your data.
